SeaFm's Shed for your Wedding

SeaFm's Shed for your Wedding!

A few weeks ago, I received a post on my page, alerting me to a potential order as the 'bride-to-be' had entered a competition to see who could shed the most weight in 3 weeks to win a wedding!!

Well Amanda Nolan and her fiancee Paul were selected to participate against another couple.  The wedding was held on Monday at 7 am (yes very early)...did I mention Charli Robinson formerly of Hi-5 was hosting the event?  Apparently she is one of 3 hosts for the morning show.

Initially the request was for a hair piece similar to the red 'Burlesque' but on a smaller scale and in white.  Well shortly after, the request was changed to a different colour as the dress had changed colour!  So the challenge had been set to create a piece worthy of a wedding!

Amanda and Paul didn't win the competition, but they did win by loosing some weight, improving their health and most importantly, the support of each other...Congratulations for an awesome effort!

Without further ado, here are the amazing pictures of Amanda Nolan (the bride-to-be) and Lisa Nolan (photographer from Images of Life by Lisa).

A huge thank you to Amanda for allowing me to create a hair piece for her special day.  Most importantly I have to say a huge thank you to Lisa for again capturing my creations so beautifully.  Simply amazing.

Busy, Busy, Busy

It's been a while since I wrote a post, so I thought I would give you a quick update on what's happening...I have a bride getting married in June, an Eloping Bride in September and a November Bride.

In between these three events a lovely lady by the name of Amanda Nolan (sister to Lisa from Images of Life by Lisa) is participating in a competition to win a wedding!  So I've been commissioned to prepare a hair piece for the bride to be and for Lisa!

But in the mean time, here are two images featuring the hair pieces for the June Bride.

The top flower belongs to the bride (prior to feathers being added), the medium will be used by the bridesmaids (one each) and then the flower girls.

This is the Bride's hair piece after the feathers have been added.  Each feather has been hand curled and mimics the petals which have been tooled by hand with millinery tools.

Newly created

In my last post I mentioned two opportunities which allowed me to create a hair piece for two ladies attending the Digitial Parents Conference.  One of those ladies had a choice between this delightful red feather creation embellished with a flower shaped rhinestone centre or an ivory silk dupioni flower with pink organza petals surrounding a vintage rhinestone.

I've provided you with two options for wearing this hair piece, with or without a bird cage veil.  Most pieces can be worn with a veil. It all comes down to the bride, her preferences and the look she is after.

This lovely apricot chiffon bloom was used to demonstrate another use and that was for a sash.  Here it's a bridal hair piece, allowing you the option to wear it in more than one way.

Since the Bridal Expo, I've been busy creating new styles, one of them being bridal sashes which I wrote about in my last post.

Well this post is about what's happening now and it leaves with an amazing feeling.  I feel very fortunate to say the least.

You know the saying 'things happen in 3's'?  Well for me it's happen in 4!! Yes you read that 4!

So the first would be the Bridal Expo, an amazing opportunity to show case my ware's, meet potential clients and discuss their needs.

For those who don't know, I have a profile on Pinterest - here's my profile link - https://pinterest.com/bellablooms.  This is where the second opportunity comes into play.  A staff member of a website called www.weddingdressbee.com pinned one of my creations.. To me that's huge.  Ok you say what's so good about that!    Well if a staff member of a business specializing in bridal pins one of my items, perhaps it will become a discussion point, which hopefully leads on to other things.

And thirdly, I have the opportunity to 'sponsor' two lovely people who are participating in the Digital Parents Conference.  Caroline Brown has a website called Nightwolf's Den - here's a link for those who wish to know more - http://nightwolfsden.com/. Caroline discusses various subjects including craft and parenting.  The other person is Jolene of Mum's Lounge.  If you haven't read one of her post or interacted on her business page on facebook, you are missing out.  Jolene has a way with words and it always leaves me in stitches!  Here are the links - https://www.facebook.com/Mumslounge and http://www.mumslounge.com.au/.

I'm sure both ladies are going to have an amazing time at the conference and dinner!

And the finally the 4th opportunity. You know that fabric flower bridal bouquet I made some time ago for a bridal shoot done by the amazing Stephanie Newbold (www.snphotographer.com.), (scroll down incase you missed that one!) well it's going to be featured in a new online magazine called the 'Handmade Bride' here's the link - www.handmadebride.com.au.  Yes you read correctly.  My work is going to be featured in a new online magazine!!  Yippee for me I say.  Subscription is free.  For all the brides who are after inspiration for their own wedding, or wanting quality items and obviously different, subscribe (again it's free) so you can received a copy of the launch magazine which is due to be released in April!

A huge thank you to the lovely Liz Foulds of www.prelovedkidswear.com.au who brought this little opportunity to my attention!

I'm very excited!!

Bridal Sashes

Bridal Sashes

During the Bridal Expo enquiries were made about Bridal Sashes.  I've created two flowers which can be used for any purpose, don't restrict yourself to hair alone or flowers.  Feathers, lace are also stunning trims to use.

As the images show below, a 50 mm wide double satin ribbon has been used - Ivory and Cream.  The bigger the flower, the wider the ribbon needs to be to provide the support it requires to last throughout the day.

Pale Pink Chiffon Rose on Cream Double Satin Ribbon

The design used to make these blooms are unique to Miss Bella Blooms Creations.

Bridal Expo

Wow, it was an amazing experience. So many people crammed into the renovated section of Deakin Uni in Geelong and it was hot!

The following images are items which were displayed on the day.  A visual way of informing Brides-to-be on what is currently available and what can be made to order.  Yes you read correctly, made to order.  All my designs are original and handmade by yours truly.  I derive my inspiration from the gown, to trims, to magazines.

Enjoy the following images and if you wish to know more please contact me via email - nicole@bellasblooms.com.au

A "Bush Wedding'

I'm madly preparing for my first Bridal Expo in Geelong on February 26th...yes I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.

In keeping with the theme of bridal, I thought I would share with you a photo shoot I was fortunate enough to participate in with the lovely Stephanie of Stephanie Newbold Photography.  These photo's are an just an example of what can be created for you and your bridal party.

The brief was simple, in keeping with the white and cream bridal theme, create a bouquet which will add that something extra to what will be an amazing backdrop - the Australian Bush.

This bridal bouquet consists of fabric flowers, hand cut, hand stitched and embellished with pearls and diamante's of various shapes and sizes. Enhanced with feather flowers, corque feathers, gold mesh ribbon, strings of pearls and finished off with a satin ribbon wrapped handle.

Coordinating headpiece and grooms boutonnière were also provided to match the bridal theme.

2012 brings the creation of handmade accessories for Bridal Parties (Brides, bridesmaid and flower girls), mother of the bride and groom.  My accessories will include hair pieces, bridal sashes, unique fabric flower bouquets and boutonniere for the groom and his groomsman.
Hair pieces will feature headbands, pearls diamante's, brooches, feathers, guipure lace and luxurious fabric's such as silks and satin. All my pieces are handmade by me and I welcome all queries. Price upon application.

Pink delustered satin fabric flowers, embellished with a center blush pearl surrounded by ivory pearls, and diamantes, each one individually hand sewn.  Offset by long corque feathers.  Each hair piece was attached to an 80cm lined alligator clip featuring the non-slip grip.

The stunning 'Burlesque' consists of over 50 long crimson feathers, each one hand curled and individually attached to felt.  The diamante center piece is further enhanced by hand sewn blush pearls surrounding the center stone, followed by cream pearls making for a eye-catching hair piece demanding a crowds attention.

The "burlesque' is also available in Navy Blue and a White/Ivory combination as shown above.

 'Aphrodite'

A beautiful hair piece made up of hundreds of silver bullion threads, hand stitched and offset with fine rows of gold bullion and adorned by ivory pearls.  Attached to a 1m silver metal headband and designed to wear on the right side of the head.

How are they created?
My pieces are individually handmade from the hand washing, cutting to the embellishing, providing you with a unique individually tailored hair piece by using original templates and making them truly unique to Miss Bella Blooms. Supplies are sourced from all over the world - India, USA, Europe and Asia.  As you would expect with handmade items (with the exception of bridal party orders where accessories are normally made to match), individual orders will always be different as they are handmade, all pieces are embellished and finished with a difference.
